Ashtyn

Ashtyn turned 13! She and I went shopping and bought her some outfits. She also went out to lunch with Cydnee, Diana, Ella and myself. She loves it when the waitresses come and sing to her on her birthday. She also had to talk on her actual birthday. She did a great job. She is growing up so fast and is becoming a beautiful young woman.

Ashtyn is a power house when it comes to basketball. She is not shy on the basketball court. She is a great leader and a awesome ball player.

The Magic Show

Years ago Weston got a box filled with magic tricks. When he and Ruger were younger they put on a marvelous magic show. So when we were all together trying to get things done for dad they gave us another marvelous magic show. I love this in these sweet children. They seem to grow so fast but yet still remember the things that make us happy.

Valentines Day!

The kids made Valentines cards for their friends. We also made soft icing cookies and decorated them.

My Father

Early in the morning on February 14th the phone rang and Brent answered it. Dad had been sick and his long time friend had stayed with him at his house that night. He later called the ambulance and that was when Brent and I recieved a call from my father's friend. Brent and I rushed to the hospital. We were met with those eyes of concern on the doctors faces and was faced with a very difficult decision. My father had suffered a massive stroke. After making a few phone calls to a few members of the family a decision was made. As I sat next to my father held his hand, layed on his chest and held the phone so family could talk to him those last few moments of his life I learned many life lessons. Many I knew but now will always keep close to my heart. Life is so very fragile. My testimony has been strenthened and I am very greatful to my Father in Heaven for all my blessings. Especially a loving husband and children that continue to teach me to live as the Savior would have me live. I will miss this man while I am on this earth. The lessons I take from all of this I will cherish. That in it's self is a gift.

Mount Graham

We went up to Mount Graham to play on the snow during Christmas break. We had a lot of fun! We love our mountain because it is a quick get away from the heat and the hustle and bussel of life. But once you have grown up in the mountains Mount Graham is a very step mountain with not a lot of sledding spots. People sled down the road! We stopped at a picnic spot and the kids also used the trail nearby to sled down. I could hardly believe how beautiful it was! We brought hot chocolate and snacks, built a fire and enjoyed fun company with the Reidheads.

On Christmas eve Papa Jerold came by with a friend, Santa Clause!  Ella's face was classic.  We had just gotten back from looking at Christmas lights when we heard jingle bells and in walked Santa Clause to our house!  At the time he walked in Ella was drinking out of a mug and she was frozen with wide eyes!

Christmas morning was great!   The kids are so much fun to watch.  We woke up early and called Papa to come and watch us open gifts.  We started with Santa gifts.  Ella got an American Girl doll she named Kassidy.  Wyatt got an i pod touch.  Trett a kindle Fire.  Ashtyn boots and skinny jeans.  Weston a Kindle Fire.  The kids that got bigger gifts sent Santa $100.00 to help out with the expense.  Merry Christmas!

Weston's Basketball 2011-2012

Weston worked really hard all summer long to get into shape and improve his basketball skills. He really did a lot to improve his abilities. It all paid off this season in basketball. As a freshman he was asked to play for the JV and for the Varsity! He rolled/sprained his ankle 2 twice this year. He did a great job and I am very proud of him for working so hard!

I know I haven't posted in a while and yes there is much to post about. Christmas, January, February and my father. Right now is not the best time but I do promise I will get to it soon.

I did want to blog about a cute funny from Ella. Today she was talking about M&M's. She said I like that they have M's on them but I'm not sure why they have to have E's, just because it is in my name. I then explained to her they were all M's. She thought for a while and said they are? Wait a minute show me one. So I drew her one. After she got over the fact that I wasn't getting the M correct and she showed me how it was done correctly she said oh a W and then I showed her the E. Her face was classic!

I had to laugh so hard! Such a cutie!

Kindergarten show and tell

What has kindergarten show and tell come to? Last Friday Ella came home with a small brown paper sack and instructions that she would be having show and tell on Monday's and she needed to put her item in the small sack. She chose a small shinny polished blue rock and placed it in her bag. Later we realized that Monday was MLK day and there was no school. I was just excited we remember to put it in her backpack and told her to keep it there until the following Monday and we were going to be prepared. Yeah check that off of the list of things to remember! She came home today and said to me she just wasn't sure about bringing her rock. She then explained to me about all of the other things the kids had brought in. Of course the one over achiever parent also came in and did show in tell with his child. I am certain none of that stuff fit in the small brown bag! Well then Ella asked me if we could just make a blanket. Then she asked me what day it was. I told her it was Tues. Then she replied, "I guess we better get started!."
