I never got around to posting these pictures. Trett's class went to the zoo in Tucson. He really wanted me to go with him. I am glad I went. We went on the bus together. He even wanted me to sit with him. I had so much fun playing games with him, munching on munchies and talking. We had a lot of fun! Thanks Trett!

Playing in the Pima wash

Ella decided to just strip down.

It was fun to walk back to Aunt Diana's house with the kids. They all complained about sand in the pants. I love being a mom and an aunt. The kids are so much fun to visit with and listen to having conversations with each other.

It may have taken me three days but I caught up on the laundry!!
I really want to paint this room. Something really fun. Any ideas?

Here is a a way I try to keep the laundry down in the summer. I just bought this little board with hooks on it at Home Depot. I then got rub on letters at the scrapbook store and did every child's name under a hook. In the summer I have them hang their swim suits and towels on their hook. I also like to hang my swim bag filled with floaties, sunscreen and other swim stuff in it. That way when we need to go we know where everything is. When we get home from swimming the kids hang their towels and suits here and they dry. I wash the towels at the end of the week instead of everyday. That is unless it got drug through the dirt and used as a snow cone napkin. It really helped when we did swim team every day and had to have towels and suits everyday for a couple months. During the school year the kids are suppose to use it for coats and backpacks.

I'm going in girls and may need back up!

My laundry has been impossible to keep up on. I have come up with many ways to solve this problem from going back to the pioneer days and only have two outfits, everyday and church clothes. Then my latest and my most favorite, just get a bigger bin to put the dirty clothes in and then put a lid on it and hope it just goes away. Well today is the day I have been trying all week to get it done and today given it a fight. Wish me luck!

I LOVE this salad

I recently went to a family get together and my sister in law, Diana made the best salad. It is perfect for this summer. Sorry I have no picture I really need to make it! She got it from a sister in her ward, from a ward cookbook (?) I thought the wording was cute so I will do it exactly how it was done in the book. It is a very light salad.

1 pound spinach remove the stems
1 pound ice burg lettuce - chilled (Leola used romaine)
3/4 pound Swiss cheese grated
3/4 pound bacon cooked and crumbled

Dressing
1/2 cup white vinegar
1 1/2 tsp onion-grated (a little more)
1 cup salad oil (canola oil)
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/4-1/2 cup of sugar (Leola uses 1/2 cup) Diana did a little less
3/4 tsp dry mustard
1 1/2 tsp poppy seeds

Toss all salad ingredients together in a large bowl. Combine dressing ingredients, except poppy seed, in a blender and blend until smooth. Add poppy seeds and blend on a few short bursts until mixed in but not pureed. Pour over salad and toss.

Promise it will be a favorite!

As many of you my family lives at the swimming pool in the summer. We sign up for swim team and spend our mornings soaking up the sun, listening to the shrills of laughter and the sweet smell of sunscreen. I have been getting Wyatt all excited to enter into the pool for the first time as a swim team member. He is excited to be part of the older kids. Then last night at an enrichment meeting one of the moms there told me that she went to sign up her kids and this year they doubled the fees. What?!? Now it cost $80.00 to be on the swim team for a month and a half one hour a day. So if you do the math that is $320.00 for my four kids. I figured it would go up but not double. I am so disappointed. I guess I will just have to get a kiddie pool, get a super fun sprinkler and share in the excitement when we are invited to swim at friends houses. College for kids here we come.

And to top things off I just received a note from the school. Ashtyn's fifth grade class next year is way too big to divide among the teachers. Since there is no money to hire new teachers they are asking for volunteers to go to one of the other schools. If not enough volunteer then I am sure they will do the deciding.

I know I am blessed and have so many things to be thankful for. I just needed to vent a bit.
The poor little kitty has gone so long with out a name. I tallied up the votes at home and all the votes from the blog and they went as follows (wow that sounds official):

Trapper 6 votes
Max 5 votes
Charlie 3 votes

Trapper it is. Now lets just hope he lives a long and happy life. At least through the next cotton picking season so you can eat all the mice you want to and the mice will stay away from my house!

We have a new male kitty. We are having a hard time choosing a name. Please help us and vote on the following three names:
Charlie
Trapper
Max
He needs a name before the kids love him to death!

Excuse my ramblings

I haven't published in a LONG time. I did catch up on lots. I do ramble but I do try to keep up on the blog since I don't scrapbook. If you wanted to know the winner on the money jar I did post it just go to older posts. Thanks for keeping up with us!

After fathers and sons the families were invited to come and have lunch and play games. Weston and a few of his friends went against Brent and I and a few kids on the fire game. We were told we had to build a fire tall enough to burn the string that was hung across two stakes. Weston's team won. They were smart enough to hang a piece of newspaper over the string and then start the fire under it. We did doughnuts on the string, javelin throwing and ate a yummy picnic. Ashtyn went exploring with the other kids and went to help a friend that was stuck and she ended up rolling down a "cliff". Well that was the words of the sweet girl that brought her back. Ashtyn said it was a hill. She got pretty banged up. Trett fell in a cactus and fund a rattle snake. It was all good and we all had a good time.

The girls went to dinner, painted our toes and fingernails and snuggled on the couch and watched a movie. LOTS OF FUN!

The guys went to fathers and sons.

We also went to the lake to go fishing while mom and dad were here. The evening couldn't have been any nicer. A couple came up close to us and saw Wyatt catch his fish. They asked what we were catching. Wyatt simply replied, "fish."

After Papa and Grammy Gram went home Wyatt asked me if I could call them. I did and when he got on the phone he said, " I forgot to tell you I love you to the moon back and back." So sweet.

Grandpa and Grandma Judd came and visited. Mom and I tied quilts and bottled. Dad was great with the kids. Wyatt showed him how to make peanut butter marshmallows sandwiches. Ella LOVES to color, she will do that all day long, so dad bought two books for her to color and I think she has almost finished them. He took them to the park and to get ice cream. One day when my mom and I went shopping Ella wanted to go. After we done shopping she said to me, I don't ever ever want to go to that store." Later when we went shopping she insisted we not go back to that store. We went to another store and took longer then she thought we should be there she kept saying, "not again!"
Thanks Mom and Dad!

Ella's 3rd Birthday!

Posted by Picasa

Ella got her ears pierced

Ella wanted her ears pieced for her birthday. She did great! Ashtyn had her ears pierced before but let them close back up so she did it too.

This car seat has been through all of the kids. It looks so tired and worn. Ella was complaining about the straps being too tight. The poor thing had to go. Years ago it should have gone. When I loaded up the other baby car seat, the one you use for the little little ones, I went to drop it off at the thrift store and couldn't do it. Every time I tried to drop it off I couldn't, it seemed like I was leaving one of my kids there. I did it and this car seat was a little easier to leave.

Weston's first temple trip

Brent and I got the privilege of going with the youth to the temple. I loved getting to see him in the temple while Brent did the baptisms. My mom had given him family names that he did the baptisms for.

Easter Egg Hunt

Weston is such a sweetie! He is transitioned over to helping hide the eggs a few years ago. This year he was very helpful to Ella. You're GREAT Wes!
