As many of you my family lives at the swimming pool in the summer. We sign up for swim team and spend our mornings soaking up the sun, listening to the shrills of laughter and the sweet smell of sunscreen. I have been getting Wyatt all excited to enter into the pool for the first time as a swim team member. He is excited to be part of the older kids. Then last night at an enrichment meeting one of the moms there told me that she went to sign up her kids and this year they doubled the fees. What?!? Now it cost $80.00 to be on the swim team for a month and a half one hour a day. So if you do the math that is $320.00 for my four kids. I figured it would go up but not double. I am so disappointed. I guess I will just have to get a kiddie pool, get a super fun sprinkler and share in the excitement when we are invited to swim at friends houses. College for kids here we come.

And to top things off I just received a note from the school. Ashtyn's fifth grade class next year is way too big to divide among the teachers. Since there is no money to hire new teachers they are asking for volunteers to go to one of the other schools. If not enough volunteer then I am sure they will do the deciding.

I know I am blessed and have so many things to be thankful for. I just needed to vent a bit.

Yeah, I signed Denim up for swim team...her first year. But I think the kids will have to take turns. Maybe she can do it for 2 years....then navy for 2, etc. I can't believe how expensive it is...and the pool pass was 125...last year it was 80 for your whole family for the whole summer. Maybe we should complain to someone who can do something about it! :)

They aren't even opening our pool this summer-big shocker eh! Sometimes I think it will be better being as they don't even have a clue as to how to regulate the chlorine. St. Johns has offered to let our kids come and swim in their pool for swim team this summer-from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m.-That means we need to leave here at 5:15 to be there on time-that would become pricey in just gas. Oh, well! One less thing we have to worry about!

For that price you could buy a pool to put in your back yard!
